The Warrior Football family held their 2011 Season Banquet today, Sunday December 11, 2011 and while at the podium addressing the 450 or so attendees, Coach Jim Benkert’s phone rang. Warriors Win CIF SS Championship! Defeat OCHS 49-42 in the Lions Den

In another epic CIF Championship game between two top programs, the irrepressible Westlake Warriors outlasted the Oaks Christian Lions in their packed home stadium 49-42. The game was nationally televised by Fox Sports. The #1 ranked Warriors (12-0) shut down the TOHS Lancers (8-4) 62-0 in CIF SS Semi Final match Friday 12-1-2011. The contest pitting long-time Marmonte League foes against one another seemed over in 1st quarter. Earlier in the season, the Warriors beat the Lancers 38-6 at TOHS, but the Lancers had come a long way since that game and hoped this game would prove to be much closer.
