Freshman Coaches

Norman Hames – Freshman Head Coach

Coach Hames is entering his eleventh year with the Warriors, serving as both freshman and sophomore head coach during his tenure. He was a three year letterman at Chula Vista High School where he played defensive back. Before coming to the Warriors, Coach Hames coached and served as President for the Westlake Braves Youth Organization. He and his wife Kim live in Westlake Village and have five children, David, Kevin, Mallory, Justin and Brandon. Kevin was a standout linebacker for the Warriors in 2001, Justin was a member of the Warrior varsity team in 2007 and Brandon was a member of last year’s 2009 CIF Championship team.

Dan Black – Freshman Asst. Coach

Coach Black has been married for 9 years and resides in the Winnetka area of Los Angeles  with his wife and three daughters. He enters his 15th year coaching after playing his college football at Pierce College, and CSU Northridge. Most recently he coordinated
a defense at St. Genevieve High School through the playoffs that allowed a stingy 209 yards per game, and he coordinated the offense for LA Baptist to the CIF Finals in 2003. He is the founder of the Valiant Football Alumni Association.

Kace Ahching – Freshman Asst. Coach

Coach Ah-Ching begins his second year on the Warrior staff after playing offensive
and defensive line at Thousand Oaks High School from 2001-2004. He is a bit camera shy and we are working on getting a photo of him.

If you have any photos of Coach Ah-Ching at Warrior Stadium in his coaching attire, please forward them and there is a good chance we will post them here to recognize him as a part of the staff.
